CMC SSM members share memories of ride to Sturgis SD

CMC SSM second officer, Needles and wife DD, spent the early part of August on a 10 - day, 4000 km + trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota, Sturgis Bike Week, touring and return.

  74th Annual Sturgis Bike Week

Needles and DD were just two of the hundreds of thousands that attend
the annual event.

"Eight hours of riding today and a total of 1993 kms to date. Tomorrow we hit Sturgis!!"

"We rode from Devil's Tower, Wyoming to Custer, South Dakota today. A relatively short ride of only 310 kms. So far to date, we have clocked 2645 km. The temperature dropped dramatically but it was a great riding day. Once again some awesome scenery along the way. We arrived early to the KOA cabins to find bunnies scurrying around, and not the least bit afraid of us. We were able to squeeze in a short ride down to Hot Springs despite another drop in the temperature down to 19 degrees and darkening clouds. We will venture up to Mt. Rushmore tomorrow weather permitting."

August 9th

"We're back."

CMC SSM members can check out 5 galleries with over 125 photos showing many of the highlights of their trip which have been uploaded to the chapter's Dropbox account.

Bikes, buffalo, buttes and beavers . . . they're all there.
